Is this for real?

I always wondered why my American friends called our political discussion shows 'Civilised' PLEASE tell me this isn't the American version of a political discussion show?? Because it LOOKS like a maniac foaming at the mouth and screaming ignorant retoric for 10 minuites whilst interrupting all his guests.

There are some very hairy babies on Craggy Island, and I think you are the hairy baby-maker.

What? The McLaughlin Group is basically made up of four regular panelists and one guest/rotation panelist. And McLaughlin is pretty subdued. The only shouting matches occur when Eleanor is fighting for air time with Tony or Pat. The show is nothing like you described.

Do I have the right show? The host is an older man with glasses?

I love it when senior citizens get insanely pissed off, I personally think it's hilarious.

apparently you've never seen a session of the house of commons...<snicker> gawd what an ignorant comment... truly american!

Yes, how terrible. People being passionate about politics and their views on the country. Regardless if the show is a yelling match or a tea party, you're missing the content of these discussions if that is where you focus.
