This is indeed very good news and I will be among the firsts to buy this set when it appears. I do hope that the distribution will not be too much confidential.

I would like to see more of these high quality mini-series of the like about all major great adventurers and discoverers. Here is just a few which have not seen their share of media coverage yet : Jacques Cartier, Cavelier de La Salle or Louis Joliet. When I mean high quality, I mean done with American level special effects made with Softimage or Discreet Logic software and European scripts where the content is not just simple minded "save the world" propaganda.

Do you have a source for this? Scanbox is largely a Scandinavian distributor and based on their output this is, if it happens to show up, likely a port of the Dutch release with subtitles in Swedish, Danish, Finnish and Norwegian (and maybe Icelandic too). Undoubtedly it will have the same crappy image and lack the additional 30 minutes that was aired on TV and is missing on the Dutch release.

According to BBFC the running time on the Scanbox release is 451:28, still the edited version...
