Windows should have been tinted

I haven't watched this show since its initial run on television until recently when I netflixed it. All these years I assumed KITT'S windows were tinted throughout the series run but watching it now I see they weren't which shocked me-perhaps the biggest mistake they ever made on the show was not tinting KITT's windows to cloak Michael Knight. They could probably CGI tint them in the future, giving the car a stealthier look.

It also would have eliminated the times we see the stunt driver's hands and that ridiculous seat they built to hold the stunt driver. It was clearly a lot larger than the original (and passenger seat). At the very least, tint the windows when Michael is not in the car, but that would have eliminated all of those "hey who is driving that car?" facial expression shots.

I seem to remember KITT being able to go between regular and dark. Either way, the windows being clear when he drove himself was kinda the whole point to impress the audience that wasn't suppose to see the driver.

As a kid I never saw the driver and it impressed the piss out of me.
