Thanks tatyamaretti, it's so hard to find decent pics of this anywhere. Why on earth is this board so quiet? It's such a great show, I was hoping to find loads of people on here who thought likewise. (Not that you & the other people on the series thread disappointed me or anything!) Oh well, their loss.

I'm afraid I don't. A lot of TV shows release their scripts as a book, but I don't think "AFR" is one of them.

Hi! I'm from Italy.
Buying the DVD from UK I wished it could have subtitles. Maybe it's too old or is "just" a series.
For example, I bought from UK the special editions of "Chariots of Fire", which surprisingly has even Italian subtitles as in the movie, as in the interviews - and "If..." which has English sub. + the script book. Moreover, I saw both of them dubbed in Italian many times, so I can understand better many words in English.
I don't remember if "A fine romance" was showed in my country in the '80...

Overall I prefer older comedy series to new ones, & many of my DVDs of these don't have subtitles, which I find annoying if a character speaks a word or term I've never heard of, usually to do with society at that time (& I wasn't around then). I don't particularly remember that happening in "AFR" though. But if it's irritating for me in my own language, I can only imagine what a pain it must be for you!
Do you mind if I ask how you discovered "AFR", ie where you heard about it, if it wasn't shown on Italian TV? I think I said this on another thread, but I only came across it because my parents had the video with the first three episodes of Series 1, & I watched it one evening because I had nothing else to do - & immediately ran out to buy the box set the next day! I'd never heard of it before then.
Do you like other British comedy too? If so, which ones? (If I'm being too nosy, just tell me to mind my own business - I'm used to it, lol!)

I think that why there's not "so much messages" is because it's an older show
(and didn't run years and years like some other and more famous older shows).
(It's probably not even being rerun much any more in England...since they
have so much other, newer stuff there now...American TV (PBS, short for
Public Broadcasting Station, is the main channel that shows the British
situation comedies) has only a few English shows and a lot of them are old
and keep being shown over and over...they are becoming classics to us in
America, but I'm not sure how many are considered classics in England...
I'm pretty sure Are You Being Served? is considered a classic
there too, and EastEnders was a very popular "soap opera" show
there for a while...but I suspect that A Fine Romance is not
such a big deal over there any more, except to the really strong fans
of Judi Dench and/or the other actors in it! ^_^)
Anyway, this show deserves to have FAR more fans! ^_^ (I thought that
there would probably be only a few people here...usually that's the way
it goes when a show gets older and less popular with the masses [large
crowds]...I'm just glad that there are SOME people here instead of NONE!)

To Tatya: I bet when you watch A Fine Romance and learn English,
it's kind of like when I watch French in Action (which is actually
a deliberately educational show, designed to learn French from, but it
happens to be kind of cute too! ^_^).
Hmmm...so I guess you're (kind of, when you can understand it!!! ^_~)
learning British slang and suchlike! ^_^ (Actually I'm really, really
familiar with the dialogue of this show, so I might be able to help
you with some of your missing words sometimes! ^_^ [No, I don't have
a script of it, but I tend to remember a lot of it, more and more the
more I see it! ^_^])
