Best ending ever devised for a Cheers episode

My choice is the ending for "I'm OK, You're Defective". A title card reads "Many Years Later". Frasier has died, and it turns out that Carla accidentally burned his will!

That's a great one. The have a nice life, fade to Sam and Diane dancing as an old couple.

RIP Gene Wilder. One of the funniest people of all time. RIP Matt Roberts. You were great.

reply

That's an excellent ending too; touching instead of outrageous.

reply

I think so. The ending of "What is... Cliff Clavin?" with Alex Trebek and Norm talking is hilarious too.

RIP Gene Wilder. One of the funniest people of all time. RIP Matt Roberts. You were great.

There are many, but I think the end of "Endless Slumper" is perfection.

reply

Probably my favorite. I'm ashamed of myself I didn't think of it first.

RIP Gene Wilder. One of the funniest people of all time. RIP Matt Roberts. You were great.

Best surprise ending: When Lilith catches Frasier & Rebecca in bed.
Honorable Mention: When Sam thinks he has killed Gary.

Best punch line ending: "Dance Mailman."
Honorable Mentions: "I was talking to Googie." -or- "Room service for Dot Carroll"

Sam killing Gary was hysterical.

Diane carrying Cliff up the steps after he shows off his 'karate skills'.

The ending for Mail Goes To Jail. I like that Cliff only got a minor suspension since he had a spotless record. It seemed fair enough since he hadn't really done anything wrong before in the past on the job.

Metallica, Iron Maiden and My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic fan.

Most things involving Cliff are hilarious.

RIP Gene Wilder. One of the funniest people of all time. RIP Matt Roberts. You were great.

My favorite was when Sam got the gang back from when they made him think he killed Gary. I love how he said "Gotcha." Also love how they all were walking down the road and Woody said, "Well, at least we're safe from that mob guy." And Norm's line, "There, there Woody, let me explain it one last time." LMAO!!

One of my favorites is when Norm is pretending to be Anton Kreitzer to fool Rudy, his painter.

Rudy doesn't believe that Norm is actually Norm, so Norm turns around and yells his trademark hello, "Afternoon, everybody!"

The entire bar responds, "Anton!"

The look on Norm's face is priceless, like he can't believe what just happened and just gives up. I crack up every time I see that ending!

reply

That is a great one.

Movie Theater: Young Frankenstein 10/10. RIP Gene Wilder. One of the funniest people of all time.

My favourite was always "pick a con, any con".

Harry Anderson is wonderful.

Pick a Con was great! I also love the one where Sam gets the gang on a bus thinking they're running from the mob as pay back for getting him to think he killed Gary. Such a great set up!

reply

Fantastic episodes indeed. And that's a later one.

RIP Gene Wilder. RIP Robert Vaughn. RIP Carrie Fisher. RIP William Christopher. 2016 is the worst!

One of my favorites was when Gary, of Gary's Old Time Tavern was conned by the Cheers gang and Harry the Hat to tear down his own bar.
