Will this ever come out on dvd?

I remember the year 1982. It was a new dawn for television, Raiders of the Lost Ark was just a big hit at the box office and tv studios were finding ways to capitalize on that success. The answer: ABC released "Tales of the Gold Monkey" and CBS released "Bring 'em Back Alive". I remember watching both as a 10 year old kid. I haven't seen Bring 'Em Back Alive since it went off the air about 23 years ago. It would be cool to see that show again. I'm surprised that it wasn't a hit on tv.

Agreed. After some many old s*** being released like all Get Smart seasons after the first one, M:I season 2 instead of the later (better) seasons.

Yeah, I've been looking all over the place just trying to find a place to watch even an episode or two for old times sake. I have fond memories of having my first apartment and watching this show every week. Haven't seen it since it went off the air. I'd purchase this set in a second.

Not that I'm suggesting you do this, but Bring 'Em Back Alive can be found on disreputable and naughty bittorrent sites. I've been told by someone I met in the pub (a complete stranger - never met him before or since) that the quality is like a poor NTSC VHS tape that's been encoded by someone doing it for the first time. I wouldn't know myself because, of course, I would never do anything as unconscionable as downloading a fairly poor quality rip of a 27-year old TV series that the studio can't even be bothered to knock out to DVD for nostalgia crazy Gen-Xers. But, who knows, it may be just your thing.

I'd pay for a decent quality DVD for this in a heartbeat btw - 10 minutes into the first episode there's a monkey assassin with a shooter! It's like they watch my dreams...

I'd part with some serious cash for a complete and legit set of "Bring 'em back alive". I loved it when it aired on TV back in the day and I'd love to travel back in time to that moment when I was a kid watching this show.

I certainly hope so - I do not remember many of the episodes - but, I waiting all week to see the next episode - I sort of understood why it went off the air - but, like you, I would enjoy watching it one-more-time. dbcall

I believe Sony Home Entertainment would own the rights these days. With the whole TRON buzz over the new sequel TRON Legacy coming out they should really cash in and release a DVD of the series! Plus, I'd love to watch clear episodes of it.

Shout Factory! have a deal with them, so if Sony won't maybe they will bring it out - while we're all still alive...! :-D

If you want this on DVD you have to do more than post, though that's a good start, you and everyone else must 'like' this IMDB page, like it on facebook and everywhere else, and rate it. Those are the numbers anyone's going to look at first when deciding to put money into a release, now this was the better show than "Tales of the Gold Monkey" in my opinion, but people have not yet put their own word out about the show. Once they can see people interested, then and only then will they release it.

This series would be ripe for streaming by a company such as Netflix!

Its that man again!!
