After 30 years, it holds up pretty well.
I like that they work in lesser known, but important moments, such as the first use of balloons for reconnaissance and the demonstration of the Spencer repeating rifle to President Lincoln (really happened).
I think the sergeant's, the excellent O'Laughlin, demonstration of loading a musket was included so you would understand the significance of introducing repeating rifles.
BTW- Would the shells air burst as shown when the southern artillery tried to shoot down the balloon?
