' Here I am... ! ! ! ! '

This is so silly, but I just wanted to share that the "Here I am" scene when Don Diego arrives to Esteban's party dressed as Zorro, is one of the scenes that make me laugh as a kid to date... the other one is Mike Wazowski spraying his eye after Boo sneezes in "Monsters Inc."... just great!!

reply

My favorite part is when Esteban goes to Diego's appartment after the party, and makes him jump and do all silly things.... "I'm walking, I'm running, I'm jumping, I'm playing..." x3!! Still cracks me up after all these years!

A-HAAA!!! SANTA MARIA!!!!

I gotta tell ya, it's the introduction of the dons (ending with "Luis Obispo from Bakersfield") bit that always cracks me up.

This movie is so nostalgic to me and my best friend. We watched it as kids and still talk about it 25+ years later. Truly a classic that will never be forgotten! Thanks!

All or Zorro, stand up and say so!

reply

Yes. This movie is great because of the Alcalde's "spazzing out" scenes....

"Haaaaaaaaaaaaaa! Santa Mariiiiiaaaaaaaaa!"

I also liked then he was ripping of the masks and calling them names "You renegade rouge! You pilfering pansy!"

And of course, the line my friends and I still use but in a different context..."NOW THIS!!!! THIS IS WHAT I CALL A ZORRO!" (Rips off mask) "This is not Zorro."

We do that when our favorite sports team sucks. "NOw this! This is what I call a football team!" (Score 21-0 other team) "This is not a football team."

The scene that made my brother and I fall off the couch and roll on the floor is the part where the Alcalde says "Sometimes...I get so angree-ee-ee!" and pounds on the apples in the bowl. Ron Liebman - a comic genius.

You naughty, evil Alcalde! I'm going to do such - terrible - things to you!

Don't ask me what I think of you,
I might not give the answer that you want me to.

Just watched my Tide beat up on the Tigers in the BCS National Championship game. Even in 2008 your score was right!! "This is not a football team."

Hahahaha!!

Paco is a scene stealer ... as is the wonderful Brenda Vaccaro in every scene she's in. Just watched it last night and it remains as hilarious as the first time I saw it. True classic!
