I guess I am the only one that hated this dull movie?

someone told me about this movie so I went and saw it, The premise was interesting and I liked the characters. But I never thought the wolves would show up only at the end.
I couldn't believe it, these people did not have to work with any make up or wolf transformations, they didn't have to deal with werewolves or anything, and we still get the wolves only at the end? That had to be one of the most disappointing movies I have ever seen.
I liked the detective and the girl but I did not feel they could carry the movie well, the movie was too dull and anti climatic for me to enjoy it, I kept hoping something interesting would happen with the wolves but it never did.

The wolf vision was cool but it was not enough, I would have liked to seen the wolves earlier in the movie, I was surprised so many people here liked it I guess I am just too young to get it but American werewolf In London is one of the best movies Ive ever seen and Howling was really good too.

this movie felt like a really long episode of Law and Order but with wolves that don't even appear til the end.

I am not saying I needed a shootout every 15 minutes but Jack Nicholson's Wolf was much more superior and much more interesting than this. That movie is not an action movie or a horror movie either but it was very very interesting and I liked it, This movie could have been good like that but I really doubt I would ever see this again.
I rather watch all the Howling sequels than ever see this again.

I'll look down, and whisper no

I think this movie is very underrated, and for years has been unfairly dismissed by horror fans. But I also understand why most horror fans have never embraced it; people found its environmental/cultural message ham-fisted, and it doesn't contain any elaborate make-up effects (although it has some pretty gory kills in it). I always liked its depiction of New York City, though, especially since it captures an era of New York City that no longer exists. All of those abandoned, burned out tenement buildings crumbling to ruin in the South Bronx back in the 70s and 80s serve as a unique setting for a horror film. I also thought the police procedural scenes - Albert Finney visiting the crime scene in Battery Park and afterwards the city morgue - very realistic and fascinating. It's a mixture of urban grit and foreboding horror, and I always thought it worked in this film. I found it quite creepy and frightening. But, again, I know I'm in the minority.

While i get why some people complain in regards to the wolfen not showing up till the end, i really liked that move.

When they get there at last it's like "bam take that!" and they get several minutes of pure awesomeness.

Gamefaqs has a far worse population than IMDB

I thought this movie was pretty boring. Love that movie poster though.

I'd give it a 6.8/10. I wish there was more focus on the indians and less on Finney eating sandwiches. For all its flaws there is still nothing like it. Interested in seeing the four hour version.

Too many people (under 25?) expecting a werewolf movie it appears. This isn't the traditional horror movie. It's a mixture of mystery, thriller, horror. I think it holds up well and I still watch it every year or so.

I didn't like it. I didn't care how it ended, honestly.
