The movie kind of gave the impression the Native Americans shapeshifted into the wolves but everything I've read has said they are just a race of sentient hyperintelligent wolves. A bit confusing to follow.
shareI really need to re-read the book. I had the idea that these were werewolves/shape shifters, but I could be wrong. Maybe the Native American characters were just supposed to be more aware of their existance.
