Reality?

Does anyone have any references to documented cases that are similar to the case portrayed in the movie?

I've done volunteer work with about 50 quadriplegics and all of them wanted to live. While they experienced great mental anguish over their horrible misfortune, they unanimously were striving to improve physically and their behavior in most cases was truly heroic. This movie is unrealistic in giving the impression that many quadriplegics would kill themselves if they could.

Not surprised. That's why I posted my question: I find that movies in general are really far removed from the real world. Thanks for the post.

Thats because Hollywood is so far from the real world its not even funny. They're utterly clueless and their cliche redundant story lines are boring.

I did think this was an excellent film.
