hospital filming location

I am a big fan of this overlooked gem from the eary 80's, and would like to know if there is any fans out there who knows where the hospital exteriors and interiors were shot. I like to go and visit the sites where famous horror films have been filmed. I know that the film is Canadian and was shot somewhere in Montreal, but I'm not sure of the exact spot. Can anyone help? Also looking forward to the DVD release coming this fall from Anchor Bay, hope it's full of extras.

It's the Veteran's Hospital in Senneville, Quebec.. on the West Island of Montreal. Hope this helps!

The information about the hospital location for shooting "Visiting Hours" is not correct. It was shot in Montreal. The producers father was a well known heart surgeon. I think he arranged it. We shot it in wings that were under construction and others that were under repair. I was there every day because I wrote the movie.

That hospital always gave me the creeps. When I was a little punk in 82, I remember seeing the Ad for Visiting Hours in the Toronto Star. I was fascinated the way the image treats each lit room in the hospital as a 'pixel', constructing the skull. Scary stuff, kids!

I reconstructed that image on my VIC20 and it was awesome. I used character code 160 for the blocks. Why I remember that, I haven't a clue. I love my childhood memories. Happier times. A time before the weight of the world crushed my gentle spirit and turned me into the hideous monster I am today.

Hi Brian! How was it like working with Lee Grant and Linda Purl???

Sam, They were the best. Lee had been a friend since the mid-seventies when I did a picture with her. Linda and I had mutual friends and she, too, became a friend. It was a great shoot. Michael Ironside and Bill Shatner as well. One of the best times of my life. Thanks for asking.

I just watched this again last night. The exterior shots do look dead on like the hospital that Jason Mentioned. It's really just on the edge of Montreal. http://veterans.gc.ca/eng/steannes Possibly they did the exteriors there and then filmed the interiors at another hospital downtown?

When the nurse opened the blinds at around 17:35 It appears they are looking down on city, it's definatley not west island in that scene. I thought maybe MTL general or Hotel Deiu. Pretty sure its not Jewish hospital. Thats the view rom around mcgill somewhere I think.
