I can't quite tell if she is

a) the oldest of Linda Purl's three kids (and acts as a part-time parent to the younger two)

b) just a paid nanny / housekeeper

c) Linda Purl's lover (a logical reason for her divorce from the father of her two kids) . . . I mean, the first time we see her -- when Linda Purl goes home for the first time spooked from the first incident at the hospital -- she casually lays down on the bed with just a bathrobe next to LP. Lez be friends?

Haha I was thinking the same. Maybe either her sister who lives with her or her lover
