You had to feel sorry for Von Steiner. He was drawn sympathetically and initially just wanted a bit of a game with Colby's crew. Then the powers that be just took over. No doubt at the very least his friends probably distanced themselves from him after the game.

I don't think he would have even made it that far. After the loss and the subsequent riot/escape he would have been blame for the whole fiasco and shot.
