Who's who?

I'm obviously a fan of this film. I have the Errol Morris DVD boxed set and a couple of his other films on VHS.

Regarding THIS film: who is who? I mean, what are the names of the individual people on camera? IMDB gives us the names, the film gives us the faces, but I'd like to match them up.

Henry Shipes is apparently the turkey hunter, and Snake is obviously his silent hunting buddy, but beyond that I don't know.

Any help?

Seems like quite the task... I don't know man. I just barely saw the film for the first time. LOVED IT. I will definately be watching this film many more times, it doesn't really mention their names tho, does it? Well, I will let you know if I find anything.

Roscoe Collins... he is the Sheriff, aka the only police officer is Vernon. He is actually my Grandmother's ex husband. He died a couple years ago.

Albert Bitterling is the elderly gentleman with the thick glasses who speaks about the gemstone, the river, etc.

In addition to those (correctly) identified in this thread, other folks include:

Howard Pettis, the worm farmer;
Claude Register, the man who can do four, in other words, five things at the same time;
Joe Payne, the elderly man with the gopher and the possum;
George Harris, the 3rd "muse" on the storefront bench;
Mr. & Mrs. J.W. Martin, the couple with the jar of growing sand;
Coy Brock, the "Just Happened" man.

I think Ray Cotton is the name of the "therefore" preacher but I'm not 100% sure.

Henry Shipes died a few years ago, and when I was last through Vernon in 2009, I heard that Snake Reynolds was still alive and serving on the City Council.

reply

Yes, Ray Cotton is the "therefore" preacher.

Don't really care much.
