Furst plays the demented imbecile, Oscar worthy

I have never seen such a disturbingly realistic portrayal of a mental defective as I have in this film. It was actually disturbing to watch Furst, and I found myself just shaking my head as he mumbled incoherently and fidgeted like an imbecile.

I found a good deal of the film slow, and the production values were like a bad sitcom. The DP must have been hired straight off a TV filming set. The lighting was flat and dull with no atmosphere. Having said that, the end of the film made this a keeper. Furst's performance now ranks among my favorite all time twisted freaks.

Stephen Furst did such an amazing job on this film that it is his performance I remember after all these years. He definitely deserves an award. The rest of the movie comes off as average, but Stephen's performance really carried this movie.

I am also a fan of Stephen Furst's portrayal in this movie. The way he totters about, his arms flailing - he just looks like an overgrown child. He is disturbing, yet one also feels sympathy for him.

I think it's a great little slasher. Yes, it starts slowly, but the finale is intense, and I love the way it assigns the hero role at the end.

His performance was the cornerstone of the whole movie. He was amazing! You could feel his pain, confusion and torment. If not for that bastard father of his, he might have had a quiet, simple life with his mother. The movie is also a terrible portrayal of the the horrors of child abuse. It makes me want to cry just thinking of it.

Experience the awe and mystery which reaches from the inner mind to...The Outer Limits

I still enjoy it for a cheap 80s flick..eh whatever

Now that was a creepy character he played, an inbred with a mind of a 1 year old locked in a basement for years, great horror story even if this movie is not that good.

I completely agree. I did not like this movie because of the manipulative editing, but Stephen Furst's performance was sympathetic and repulsive at the same time. A really talented actor.
