is there some manga backstory that elaborates on what the Baron wanted?

Did he want to eat Katy's soul, or what?

In the manga, Ghost Danshaku (Baron) is not Satan. He is simply a very evil man who enjoys killing animals and hates cats the most. In the movie he seems to be extremly evil rather than just a snobby pretty boy who enjoys killing.

but she was completely passed out on his bed for some time before unico ever showed up. he even walked out of the freakin room.

After rewatching the movie for the first time in 15 years. I too was curious what the whole deal was with that Baron.

But after reading that website with profiles. I can see he's just a typical trouble making murdering guy.
