The Miracle of Unico

It's so amazing when you compare the main message of Unico movie with what it has brought to our very own lives. People who are grown ups like me, still enjoy remembering this movie after such long years and they like to talk about this. I barely know any other movie ( nevertheless an animation) which has such a magical, miraclous effect on people. Can you name any other movie that has such effect?! I can't name any.

I can name only one
"Nausicaa of the valley of the wind"
Please watch it, I found it after years of searching and several attempts to try to remember the title. And it is the same to watch in adulthood and as inspiring emotionally and fascinating for the imagination as it was when I was 10.
Unlike "Neverending story" witch was a disappointment to watch again 15-20 years later or so.

I second Nausicaa. It's a timeless tale and is extremely memorable. It's even more enjoyable when you're an adult and you understand the plot better. I'd say it might even be better than Unico.

Unico and the Island of Magic had a profound effect on me as a child and having watched it and its predecessor (which I just watched for the first time), it still has a deep impact on me even 20-30 years later (wow!) I remember even tearing up towards the end of Island of Magic when my daughter was watching it again just recently. The only other movie from my childhood to have such a major impact on me was probably Transformers the Movie (the original 1986 animated movie, NOT the vastly inferior Bay movies) when they killed off Optimus Prime, as well as a bunch of other main characters from the animated series. The Unico movies were truly very special to my wife and I and I'm grateful that-thanks to Discotek Media- I have FINALLY been able to share it with my daughter and stepdaughters. My only regret is that there were only two full-length Unico movies produced (not counting the TV pilot, which was put on the Island of Magic DVD as a bonus feature) but sometimes things are just more special that way, right?
