at the movies

I remember this movie clearly. It was the first movie I saw that I considered leaving and asking for a refund. It was the only one until I saw SOUTHLAND TALES this week.

I was 10 when this movie came out, and I remember begging my mom to take me to see it, which she did. I absolutely loved it, and I still do.

I saw in a theater when it came out, I would have been about 12. To this day I still remember the "The pearl is in the reebah" and the woman who's vision was so bad that she thought the midgets were little kids, one of them squeezed her boob and she said "Don't be a naughty boy." But ironically it wasn't until very recently that I rediscovered the title of the movie, and I had completely forgotten that Chevy Chase and Carrie Fisher were even in it.

I like it too. And if Chevy Chase thinks this is the worst film ever made, he should look again at another one he was in, "Nothing but Trouble".

Yeah, 'Nothing But Trouble' was a hard sit, but this movie (that I just saw today) is actually really funny (if slightly offensive). I'm surprised how much I liked this one, seeing as how it's by the same director as the terrible 'Son in Law'. So I guess he's kind of a hit and miss director (or I guess, just a miss and miss director if your a critic). Anyway, I'd be willing to check out some more of his films.
