David Scott

The last I heard he shot himself in 1992. He was from Montreal and died there ten years after making this film. Hard to find any more on the guy

I was just starting to watch This is Elvis again and was looking up the actors who played all the versions of Elvis in the movie. I did not know until just now that he had committed suicide at age 30. I found one website with photos of him and there is a mention by his former manager about his descent into drugs after playing Elvis in that movie.

Here is a quote from the website I found on David of a statement about his former manager.

Jacques Gendron is currently looking for someone qualified with experience to transcript his book and a movie scenario, in both English and French, depicting David Scott' s descent into drugs after starring in the 1978 movie THIS IS ELVIS.

Jacques Gendron was David's promoter and manager from 1978 to 1993. Mr. Gendron would like with this book to sensitize young men about the dangers of impersonating Elvis as well as the dangers of drugs.

Here is the link to the website with photos of David. That section called Project is kind of interesting. It really talks about this book project and how David was very heavily influenced by his obsession with Elvis. I have only glanced it.
