Is that Fred Thompson?

The guy who says "Whether you’re black or white, young or old, from Moscow, London or Memphis, Elvis Presley will still be the King of Rock and Roll to me.” looks just like a young Fred Thompson. This seems logical as he was a senator from TN. I haven't seen this film, but my research points to it being at the beginning.

Can anyone confirm that it was him?

Nope, not a chance. First of all, it looks more like Albert Brooks than Fred Thompson. Secondly, Thompson was already working in politics as an attorney (or counsel), notably visible during the Watergate hearings in 1973. Plenty of pictures of him from the 1970s are available. Just google it and you'll see what I mean. He didn't look much different from how he looks now, quite frankly. He wore his hair combed back, not it a puffy afro. He actually looks and sounds an awful lot like my late uncle! (he was a Mississipian)
