Chris Nolan must have this on loop to watch when he makes Batman films.

A great deal of stylistic similarities, in framing, lighting and pacing, in 'Thief' that are echoed in Nolan's Batman movies.

Nolan copies Micheal Mann hard. He also almost admitted it talking about HEAT and The Dark Knight bank robbery scene.

It's always weird to me how Nolan states Ridley Scott and Stanley Kubrick as his two favourite film makers/influences, when his Batman trilogy clears reeks of Michael Mann.

Batman Begins: Thief. Dark, gritty, claustrophobic, loads of night time shots.

The Dark Knight: Heat. Polished, big open city, multitude of characters, a showdown between good guy/bad guy at a table who are very much alike.

Dark Knight Rises: um....The Keep?

Lol. In terms of quality, yes. Actually I would rather watch The Keep than most of Nolan's work.
