I can't help you with the song, as I haven't seen it since it came out at the theater. I guess I was 7 at the time. I remembered that I liked it and I'd love to see it again. Might pick it up on DVD if the price is right. If I find out the song I'll check back in here.

It's something about "heading south." I suppose it's on the film credits.

Hi, I've got the VHS of this film, the next time I watch it I'll check out the song for you. I know what it's like to go crazy trying to find a certain song.

Hello,

I am sorry this took five years to answer!

....but I am listening to it right now, and it sounds
like the male voice is Joe Cocker.

It is a duet but I do not recognize the female voice.

...Checking the credits I do not see a likely candidate
besides "Road Song", performed by Steve Davis

I have the movie playing so I hit Shazam and it couldn't identify the song! A rare miss for that app. Anyway, looking at the soundtrack list I would guess the same thing as the other poster above....most likely Road Song by Billy Sherrill performed by Steve Davis and Janie Fricke. I checked out the other soundtrack tunes on YouTube and they weren't a match.
