UK DVD

Just in case anyone is interested I picked up the recently released UK DVD of this, the only Jess Franco film I can sit through in one go. My worst fears were confirmed, it's the old cut version that was released on video over here in the early 90's. I can't believe it! I feel really ripped off. Why did the distributor not re-submit it to the BBFC? They re-submitted cannibal holocaust in exactly the same cut version that was passed before, what did they think this would do? The BBFC just passed the same version they had passed a few months before. Yet they didn't bother to even try and get bloody moon through uncut. I would be willing to bet that it would be passed uncut if it were shown to the BBFC today. A little bit of effort could have made all the difference. A real shame. For what it's worth the picture quality is OK if a little dark, not that means anything with the film being as cut as it is, basically all the best bits are missing or shortened. Prehaps I'll play frisbe with it, with my dog and stick to my twenty plus year old uncut VHS tape. Very disapointing, even for less than a fiver.
