So is your face...

What do you expect from Jess Franco? Biting social commentary? An Oscar nomination?!

reply

No way dude! This wasn't crap at all! It was young and horny (sometimes topless) Italian chicks running around screaming. The dialogue was pure bunk, but this was way better than some of the 80's slasher trash that's out there. I was surprised.

The chicks in "Bloody Moon" are not Italian, they're German and Spanish. Don't assume that every English-dubbed horror film from Europe is Italian.

reply

Scariest thing I've seen.

I gotta say, I quite enjoyed it, and found it nicely tacky, and elevated by some way ott Fulci style gore and a willingness to break some taboos.

"Hey, look at that! She's not crazy, she's being chased by a cheetah!"

reply

I watched it right after BLOOD AND BLACK LACE, and while it doesn't hold a candle to that one in terms of style, it was an odd coincidence to see to movies that have very similar denouments.

reply

in this genre it goes in the middle + little up, rating this 7/10
has good suspense, some shocking effects and ofcourse these eurotrashy cheesy moments.

Jess Franco is the worst. This is slightly more of a real movie than his usual output, but still not very good.

I'm all for nudity and disregarding of taboos and what have you, but that doesn't fix the inane dialogue, inexplicable characters, confused plotting, glacial pacing, ultra lame soundtrack, etc. It's a long, boring, dumb joke. Typical of the time period and genre in many ways, but still schlock.

And Angela was insufferable. I really wanted someone to decapitate her with garden shears.

I thought it was absolute garbage: 3/10

 The boulder. That was SUCH a bad scene. I enjoyed this though. I mean the acting and the dialogue weren't great, but I don't really mind since it wasn't boring. The characters weren't too bad either. Antonio and Inga (?) were hilarious .

I thought this film was a good deal of tacky'n'trashy slasher fun. Granted, Jess Franco fails to generate much in the way of either tension or creepy atmosphere, but there's more than enough tasty bare female skin and cheesy gore to compensate for those deficiencies. 7 out of 10 from me.
