Stripes (1981) vs Caddyshack (1980)

Caddyshack. Stripes turns into a Schwarzenegger movie in the last act.

Caddyshack. I find it funnier.

Caddyshack for me. I have never been able to get into Stripes, and I don't know why. I adore the SNL work Murray did around this time and Harold Ramis is always a joy to watch, but the movie just doesn't do it for me.

Both are great but if I had to choose between the two to watch tonight, Caddyshack wins.

Caddyshack hands down. On a recent viewing I did enjoy Stripes a little more than I did when I was a kid, I didn't even really mind the last act but it was not as funny as Caddyshack.

Both of these movies are part of my childhood in the early 80s and I love them both.

Caddyshack is my favorite of the two.

Overall Caddyshack is probably the better film as a whole.

But the first half of Stripes is what I'll watch far more than Caddyshack or even the latter half of Stripes. Never gets old.
