harry truman song

can anyone tell me the group who sang the song about harry truman?

reply

Chicago did a song about the President, but it didn't have anything to do with the St. Helens guy.

if you have the vhs or dvd, check the end of the credits; all songs should be listed there ...

the weapon of peace was a tool of fear

reply

the credits at the end state:
-corky corson & "buckboard"-
-here's to you harry truman-
as well as other songs listed
good luck finding it, though.

I think I have a 45 of "Give'em Hell, Harry"

They were a great country band did they ever cut an album. I love their last one on the closing credits. You dont hear music like this so much anymore.

There was at least two, and while I had(have?) them both on 45, I couldn't tell you the band names.
The one I remember most clearly was post-May 18th "Oh Harry Truman, your Spirit Lake is gone, but Oh, Harry Truman, your spirit will live on and on!"
I think it took me a year to accept that he was dead. I was 8 when it happened, and I watched it from the end of my street in Vancouver Washington..and my dad had driven us(at my request)to Cougar the night before it happened....but I digress.
The other one seemed to be a country song with old people taunting Harry, stuff like "Come down off that mountain Harry, Molten come lava!"
I ate it all up though, Harry was my hero.

The music was great in this movie, including the song you like. Wish there was a way to get it on cd/mp3.
