Does anyone know....

Does anyone know if Amitabh and Rekha were still having an affair when they filmed this movie? I have the foggy idea that they had already broken up, but I'm not sure. If so I can imagine that filming the movie must have been painful and kind of masochistic, but also maybe cathartic in a brutal sort of way, or perhaps a resigned one.

I thought the scene where Jaya tells Rekha she'll never leave Amit was kind of chilling in the sense that that conversation apparently took place in real life as well...crazy.
