This is the 2 hour, not 9 hour version!
Shogun (1980) (TV) is the 2 hour butchering of the mini-series! IMDB has a seperate listing for Shogun (1980) (mini-series) which is 9 hours. Beware the 2 hour version......beware

I haven't seen this movie since it originally aired, and I refuse to see the chopped 2 hour version.
The entire series was recently aired twice on the Hallmark Channel, one episode a night for the past week and all day yesterday, Sunday.

If you wnat to watch the entire 9 hours version and not the 2 hours version, I don't know where you can buy it except by going to ebay.com and seeing if anyone has a copy that he/she want to sell. When I want to watch the entire 9 hours, I just go to my local library and check it out. Maby the library that is near where you live will have a copy of the entire 9 hours.

shareIt is true that the TV movie is a "butchered" version of the mini series. However, I do believe that there are scenes in the TV movie that do not appear in the mini series. No crucial scenes of course: a scene of mild nudity for one. That being said, for purists, the mini series is the only way to go.
