A gang of middle-aged heroes!

Reynolds and his plucky "machine" have an age range of 41 to 60.

Not the sort of posse we'd be seeing today.

I just wish the movie itself was better. As it is, it's a 5/10.

Noticed the age also. Should have had at least one or two younger detectives to make it a little more realistic. But fine film none the less. Especially if you from Atlanta area. The TV newscasters near the end of the film were actually the big three local newscasters at that time. đź‘Ť

And they were going up against guys of the same age; so, your “problem” would be . . . ?

PS This movie rocks. It has wonderful character actors and an intense plot, akin to the Dirty Harry flicks of the same era. It does not have Clint Eastwood, who is four times the actor and ten times the director that Burt Reynolds was. (It feels sad to write that in the past tense.) Reynolds’ directing did not help
this movie; but Rachel Ward’s sublime presence, face and body more than compensated for that. If only she had replaced Sandra Locke in Fatal Impact . . . !

Yeah that made it pretty interesting imo.
