Uncut DVD and Remake News.

I was just engaging in some nostalgia and quite by chance found out that they're releasing the uncut (or at least close to it - they don't specifically state it's uncut but the run time is the same as the original release) 139 minute Japanese version on DVD as part of the Sonny Chiba collection. Amazon has the film on pre-order for release (currently on February 8th).

I was surprised because I didn't even know the film had been cut when I saw a dub version in the 80's.

I was even more surprised to find out that the film has been remade and is due to be released this year, (2005.6.11), complete with even more sophisticated military equipment and even a helicopter gunship.
