At least 30 minutes should be cut out

Wow, that was annoying! Stupid Quid talking to himself was simply unbareable. All this f@cking self narration! Jeez! And why he is so dumb? Seriously.

Besides the murder scene in the beginning, that was really great, there is nothing in this movie worth watching. At least 30 minutes should be cut out so the plot can make some sense.

But on the other hand, people compare this to Hitchcock, and I hate his movies. So there.

reply

It was Quid's narration that made this film so interesting to me, and Stacy Keach was perfect as the trucker. Of course, I love Hitchcock, so what do I know?

reply

cut 30 minutes, are you CRAZY???
I think 30 minutes could have been added, we could have gotten to know Hitch a bit more, and or more with Smith or Jones.

I also love Hitchcock, and like the other poster, what do I know?

reply

I know, it's pretty hard to believe, isn't it? It's like the OP doesn't really have anything to say, so he just tries to be provocative.

I think this film was fine the way it is, but I wouldn't have minded more background about Hitch – or even more of his road monologues with the dingo.

reply

Me too, I love Stacy Keach, and JLC and would have liked to see more with them talking, or more of him talking to himself/bosley.

reply

It's amazing how well those scenes of him talking to the dog/dingo work, isn't it? Stacy Keach can really spin a yarn.

This is almost like a stage play because of all the dialogue, yet's it's still very suspenseful because of the strong performances and element of dread.

I think it was a masterstroke having the dog (a red healer I think) in the cast. Besides being an active player throughout, he doubled as Quid's sounding board, especially when Hitch is not around.

reply

Yes, the dog really helps to move the narrative along. Otherwise it would be Stacy Keach talking to himself or just driving, neither of which would have worked nearly as well.

reply

Interesting.

He's nothing next to Bart Taylor.

reply

Agreed. 30 minutes could have easily been added. I liked his interaction with his dingo - cute and funny.

reply

OP, you should have cut the last sentence from your post (the one about hating Hitchcock). You loose all credibility with this sentence.
