What if Karen Allen been unavailable for the role of Marion Ravenwood?

Do you think Lucie Arnaz could've pulled off the role because she's three months older than her? Could she have brought the same rough edges that Karen Allen gave the role?

Would Lucie have been a better fit if she was cast alongside Tom Selleck, the original choice of who was to play Indiana Jones.

That would have been interesting if Lucie Arnaz had played Marion instead. I just saw Arnaz in THE JAZZ SINGER (1980) a few days ago and she had a likeable and funny onscreen presence.

I've always like Karen Allen's nuanced performances and believe she was an excellent choice (while Harrison Ford was *perfect* for this film).

But! When I plug Lucie Arnaz into my alternate movie universe cranial simulator, I see her carrying this role just fine, even if Allen is the better choice. I would love to see a casting scene with Arnaz in it.

I don't think Lucie Arnaz was ever in the running for the role. Did you read this somewhere or just your opinion?
