Only an 8.5 rating?!!!
This action/adventure masterpiece is a solid 9 IMO. Easily as good as the best Star Wars movie (Empire) and better than the LOTR films. Any thoughts?

Of that group only the top 3 are ranked 9.0 or higher, and quite a few of those are bunched in pretty tight. I'd certainly rank it high than that lot--other than my personal top two (TESB and SW)--but there are only a few head-scratchers on there (Interstellar? Really?)
I too rated it a 10, but acknowledge that it is an impossibility for any film to have a 10 average on IMDB. Raiders is definitely my favourite film of all time and is IMO better than most of the films ranked above it (I think the Shawshank Redemption and the Dark Knight are pretty overrated.)
What I fail to understand is how so many people rated ROTLA a 1. The score and stunts alone are worth a 5. I can only assume a lot of saddos deliberately voted it down so that their favourite films can rise in the rankings.
It was ranked higher than 36th place not too long ago. Could have sworn it was in the top 20 or 25 no more than a year ago.
Interstellar being that high is indeed a head-scratcher. That's Nolan fanboys for you. Even though the consensus is that it's one of his weaker films, it doesn't stop the fans overrating it, and in the process deliberately rating down films like Raiders to push it up.
Just realised I never rated Raiders on IMDb, one of my favourite movies ever made. Just rated it 10.
