this movie screams for a remake

I hadn't seen this movie in over 30 years and it was one of favorite video store, gore rentals. I was happy to see it on Showtime. it was still great for the gore factor, but it is half baked with so many unanswered questions/undeveloped story lines. if fleshed out it could have been a classic.
