The Crying (Spoilers)

Ok, so the crying sounded like Bob to me. So was Bob Freudstein? In other words, is it possible that after he is taken into the Beyond (or back in time) he eventually grows up to become Freudstein? That would explain the crying in the house being his, and the quote at the end. What do you think?

"This is America, and you've got the right to hate who you want, so lets start bustin heads!!!"

Remember that Freudstein is made up of all kinds of people. The crying theory I think makes sense is either one of two things...one, is he took the neck area of a child and grafted it onto himself at some point, hence the childlike sounds, or his vocal chords have rotted/atrophied to the point where they make a high pitched sound. If you notice at the end when Freudsteins arm is chopped off, he sits on the bed crying. Whatever the reason, its eminating from Freudstein.

That's a pretty amazing theory, and maybe it was the intention. I took the crying just to be an eerie touch, Freudstein's voice was like a child but he was this rotting murderous zombie.

I'm pretty sure though that if Fulci had intended for Bob to be the same person as Freudstein, at the end there would have been a lengthy sequence where Bob's face and Freudstein's face kept flashing back and forth, like when Anne appears for the first time and instead of just letting us think "Wow, she's the mannequin lady!", Fulci keeps inserting images of the mannequin just so he's sure we get it.

Yes, logically that would make sense but we are talking about a Fulci film here. The only thing consistent with them is incoherency.
