A few questions on the plot (SPOILERS, of course)

1) The police failed to realize the body with the army tags is not that of Joss Beaumont. Are we meant to think that, with Beaumont being a wanted man, they weren't at least provided with photographs of him for visual identification? I'm assuming they were in the know about the effort to catch him, since I can't think of a reason for them not to be involved, and for Colonel Martin and Inspector Rosen to try and stop him by themselves. This guy wanted to kill a president, after all.

2) Before meeting with Valeras, Beaumont called the press to protect his own life. Why would that prevent Martin from arresting him on the grounds of his threat to president Njala? Beaumont might've argued they wanted to kill a secret service agent, but they could've just as easily claimed he wanted to kill a president. With that in mind, after killing Njala at the end, there shouldn't have been any problem with arresting him, and no need for the minister and Martin to debate whether or not to let him go!
