Wow. This was a poor movie...

Am I the only one that feels this movie trite, poorly acted, and lacking?

This movie was highly recommended thus prompting my viewing. I was quite disappointed throughout the film. I love Ennio's score, but Belmondo is definitely not the epitome of cool as some claim on here. He comes across in his roles as a wannabe French version of Steve McQueen (or similar "cool" actor). Granted he performed his own stunts, but the man is playing a tactically trained operative but yet he moves so clumsily and isn't very bright...

Poor Ennio. What a waste of a wonderful score.

I myself enjoy foreign films and subtitles but this was a complete waste of time. Not only was this film badly done but belmondo can't act, and is nothing special to look at. My two favorite things guns and men and this film couldn't get either one right. The music is beautiful and ennio can find a better place for his music. Belmondo plays a player talk about a ruse. Who does this guy think he's fooling. All and all there was no entertaining value no sex appeal and terrible sound effects.

I didn't feel it was that bad a film. But at an IMDb aggregate of almost 8, it's way overrated imo. Belongs somewhere around a 6 or 6.5.

Yeah, just what I rated the film. A solid 6
