Chico dead?
Did I miss something or was Chico killed by the showgirl who slapped him?
She seemed to strike him hard enough to knock him over but surely it wouldn't have been fatal?

It happened pretty fast so maybe I'm mistaken but I believe the knife Pixote stabbed her with came from the handbag. It looked as if she slashed his throat or fatally stabbed him before Pixote got the knife. Like I said, it happens very fast in the film and the effects are rather dated so I'm not sure. She may have just knocked him unconscious.
