contrived

I hate katt's contrived actions and acting out of every word in "corner of the sky"... ruins the song for me

Give me a break. I don't think he acted out each word. I think he put together
an amazing mixture of innocence, impatience, joyfulness, zest for life mixed with youthful "dispair". I loved Katt's performance: singing, acting, and dancing. I would have loved to have seen Ben Verdeen and William Katt perform live.

fair opinion. i just think a song like that should be acted emotionally, not physically.

You certainly have the right to your opinion especially if it doesn't seem natural to you. But having performed in an amateur play of the same, it is a highly stylized play-no one has a natural role, everyone and everything is a little over the top throughout the whole play.

i understand as I have done professional theatre for the past 10 years. the key word in your statement is "amateur".

and as a further rebuttle... one of my first professional performances was singing that song in particular on stage and my director actually yelled at me for moving too much but, again... art is in the eye of the beholder... no perfect formula

Very nice. I hope that statement makes you feel better about yourself.

not really but it does make me feel better about my theatre reputation
