No it isn't. Anyone know why? It makes no sense.

This is my personal favorite film of all time.... The relationship between Marsha Mason, Joan Hackett and James Coco is played flawlessly. Such a shame this is not on DVD... I really don't get it. We can buy Max Dugan Returns...but not this film!!

Because it's a Columbia property now controlled by Sony -- they have little to no interest in releasing much of their back catalogue.

who do we contact to get this film on dvd? it's probably in my top 10 sentimental favorites...i have never forgotten this film, saw it when i was 16. Both this and Chapter Two are owned by Columbia/Sony, can't they do a Neil Simon boxset or SOMETHING?

I just saw this on TCM. My thought is that Simon doesn't want it released. There is no truth in this movie regarding alcoholism. Maybe Simon has learned this since 1981. Mason's recovery is pure Hollywood. Best part is certainly Joan Hackett and I also wish she had won the Oscar. No one remembers Joan today. I wish I could find Five Desperate Women somewhere.

Hollywood recovery?...she was still struggling at the end. She relapsed, and according to her movie daughter, she looked just as bad as when she went into rehab. I think this movie shows how challenging recovery is for someone so used to numbing themselves.
