I can see it. When you reach a certain age, death isn't all THAT scary any more. If he went home, even if he woulda/coulda got more medical treatment and lived another couple of years - wouldn't it be OK to live out whatever short time you have left in a place you have always loved, instead of a hospital? Trying to eke out a short time, hooked up to machines, staring at the ceiling? I would have done the same.

He had angina not a heart attack. He took his meds and it went away.
