Well written and entertaining

One of Stallone's best roles.

It certainly is entertaining, but I liked the direction more than the writing. This has some spectacular shots of Paris, London and New York in the early '80s. It also has a terrific score, but sometimes it feels out of sync with the action. As for the plot, I think it started strong and meandered a bit before picking up again at the end. 6/10 stars from me.

I really enjoyed it. Love the gritty early 80's look, the soundtrack and of course the action, writing and directing. 8/10 for me.

Why can't we have more movies like this? Even a remake, Sly can play the terrorist expert who gets whacked or the guy who was his boss in the original. The story holds up well except for out-of-date computers & busses, but the plot is fantastic, the acting gr8, and the premise as relevant today as it was 35 years ago. Wulfgar can be Al-Qaida or ISIS. Cmon Hollyweird, 1 movie not about superheroes can slip by!

Very well paced, superbly scored, has a great feel for the New York locations and indeed top performances both by Stallone and Hauer. Pretty much the only downside is the cliched stuff about Stallone's relationship problems, but it appears that most of that was fortunately edited out of the final film. Top notch action movie with surprisingly low-key characterizations and very little in the way of silly macho posturing that usually tends to plague this kind of material. 8/10.
