Dumbest terrorist hunters ever???

So de silva spots what seem like Wolfgar in night club.

He circiles around with his partner then just stares intently at possible suspect for several minutes...making potential terrorist uncomfortable and the firing bullets in crowdedness nightclub

Why not be stealthy don't rouse suspicion and just follow the guy back to where he is hiding

reply

Stallone couldn't make his final move until he had at least one more chance to 'slip into something more comfortable' and dress up as a woman again.

reply

Yeah pretty dumb, they could have at least waited until he left and then nab him.

reply

DiSilva could have pulled his gun first.

The Oracle (ominously): "Everything that has a beginning, has an end." Even time 🇺🇸

reply

Yeah, DiSilva was an idiot, he caused that shootout that got innocent people killed.

reply

And, instead of Stallone and Williams moving stealthily alongside and grabbing him, Stallone shouts "Wulfgar!" from across the room, enabling him to shoot and slash his way across half of New York City.

reply

Watching it now on TV and just saw that scene. It is extremely dumb. But this is very common in lots of films and TV shows. Law enforcement official spots a suspect, completely unaware of them, and they could easily walk right up behind them and apprehend them with no problem. Instead they shout "Freeze" or "Police" or "Suspect name!", cue chase (or less commonly a shootout) and high chance of losing suspect.

reply

He does a call out war cry... "WULF-GAAAAARRRRR!" (Why? Because it's "cool".)

reply

Yeah, that was cool. I’m watching it here right now on Tubi, great addition to Tubi. I like Lt. Munafo in this movie(Spinell) he makes me laugh in the scene when Wolfgar took over the tram, and Wolfgar says, “I want that bastard!” And Munafo asks “what bastard?” In his passionate voice xD it’s lol.

reply

I just posted about that too. LOL. And then they still have DaSilva involved in the hunt! Wow!

"Sorry. If I've not responded to you either it wasn't necessary or I've set you to Ignore."

reply

Basically da silva caused it through clumsiness and stuffing around. You don't just stand there and stare at a terrorist, and the 2 innocent people that got shot on the dance floor wouldn't of got shot, if da silva hadn't done the stare down with wolf gar.
......and the scene at the train station is worse, he had the shot and a chance......very un Sly like.

reply

I loved this film when I first saw it. Maybe because I was 11 years old, and didn't know any better.

I just watched it for the first time in decades, and it's a pretty bad film. I know that it was edited down twice, so a lot of stuff that may have made the movie more coherent was chopped.

reply

DiSilva and Fox were dumb terrorist hunters and that was part of the plot. Hartman came over and kept telling them how deadly Wolfgauer is. Both men but especially DiSilvia cavalierly dismissed his training. Of course the actions at the Disco are Movie/TV Police 101 but it ties into the two of them not taking Wolfgar serious enough.

reply

De Silva was being careful in approaching that possible suspect who could be very dangerous. He had to be very sure to confirm if the suspect was really Wulfgar to make his move thats why De Silva stared at him to test him but Wulfgar blew his own cover by shooting and then running.

reply

Being careful? So Sly suspected he was the man and thought "best be careful here .... Lets think of a safe way to test if its him ..." So he has a think , and comes up with "I know I'll stare intently at him ( and also get my partner to do same ) and if he starts shooting the place up - he's our man!"
