Very first murder

A murder occurs before the first scene and the head is found in a duck pond, but it is harder to find. So, the victim in the first scene is really the second decapitation in the city. The officer later speaks of "four" murders (after the waitress is killed -- she's #3 of the ones we see). But, I take the first one isn't really related to the others. We hear nothing about the victim etc.
