Good suspense!

Saw it last night and liked it! Full of suspense! And since it is based on a true story, it shows us how precious Freedom is!!! These people living in East Germany at that time were surely suffocating and suffering a lot from this awful regime! Unbelievable that just because they wanted to go to West Germany, the f... Soviets were ready to kill a whole family! And more! It's true, it's not an Oscar movie but who cares? Some Oscar movies are so bad, anyway... What bothered me a bit was the differences of accents between Mr. Hurst's and Jane Alexander's or Beau Bridges'. Also they don't feel at all like East Germans! Bridges is and walk and move like a true American. Nothing against that but not when you play an East German. Still, the acting is good! And the directing too.
And no boom above the image! 2 1/2 on 4!!!!

The accents were a bit of a problem for me, too; should have been all German accents, or none.

The devil's in the details- by the second half of the movie, I was looking for *that* white Skoda in every outdoor scene (while I'm on cars the Ford Taunus Transit tow truck was inexcusable considering the filmmakers had access to THREE black Volgas- where were there three black Volgas in West Germany in 1980, outside Soviet-bloc diplomatic fleets? And they couldn't get a Barkas or Robur tow truck?)
