Gilda Radner

They should have gotten Gilda Radner to play Ramona. That would have made it even funnier. Also it would make it more seventies Saturday Night Live like.

Gilda Radner was very funny and talented, though I don't think she was right for the role of Ramona. Ramona is supposed to be a seductress, which does not really fit Gilda's personality.

As brilliant as Radner was, sorry, she was no Cathy in terms of looks. Not by a long shot.

But, I think they should have found a way to put her in the film since she's funnier than Dan Akroyd and Belushi combined.

Cathy has the worst voice ever.

Gilda might have worked as Enid; she and John played a middle-aged couple a few times on "Saturday Night Live" who were not much difference from the Keeses in their life-weary temperament. But I don't know if anyone could have made Enid seem likable or understandable.

The whole thing about the Ramona character is that she absolutely oozes sexuality out of her very pores. She's a succubus of sorts that throws Earl's quiet life into turmoil because of the irresistible temptation that she is. Gilda was a comedic talent of the highest order, no doubt. But she WASN'T the Ramona character.
