Better than Halloween

I liked Halloween but this movie is a lot better imo, and it didn't need a remake either, although i think the remake was pretty fun.

I felt Halloween was alot better.

I think it's better than Halloween, as well. Much more action. And at least the killer has a "motive" in this one.

The Shape's lack of motive is exactly what makes him so terrifying (same with the killer in the original slasher progenitor Black Christmas.)

Speaking of "motive", the revelation of the killer in My Bloody Valentine is really the movie's only sore spot. Up until then, it's a well-made movie on all counts. But that ending is cheap and appallingly lousy screenwriting.

Coincidentally, the three of those comprise my Top 3 slasher list (with Halloween sitting unchallenged at 1, and the two Canadian productions vying for second place.)

Halloween might have had a little better quality and acting, but I feel the fact that the bad guy looks cooler and the awesome music (especially on the credits) makes it better.

Well this is a first :)

I rate both of them 10/10, but I rank My Bloody Valentine (1981) higher.
