Sequel?


They clearly left this open for a sequel. Why wasn't there one?

I'd say it was just timing. The first one, like most horror movies of the time, did leave it open ended, but the genre would have died out by the time a second part came out.

The director had plans for one, he approached Paramount in 2001 to see if they were interested, apparently they were not as the original did not do the numbers they way they wanted it to.

Apparently the plot centred around the mine which had long since closed and was now operating as a fairground.

There are articles online that mention it and a site called Retro Slashers had more information on it but it has long since changed and I can't find the articles if I find them I will post a link.

One wonders what happened to Axel, since he just slipped away into the mine after cutting off his arm. Someone should do a sequel, but I guess it's kind of late for that idea.
