No original Eddie?

I was gonna ask how come Butch Patrick didn't appear, but then did the maths.

He was 28 at the time, it probably would have looked weird having an adult Eddie when everyone else had stayed the same.

This wasn't just a reunion, it was a pilot for a revival, so younger actors replaced Eddie and Marilyn in case it wound up leading to a new series. Unfortunately (or perhaps fortunately), it was scheduled opposite the annual airing of "The Wizard of Oz," which always garnered huge ratings in that era before the home video boom, so a new show never materialized.

I don't think that being aired opposite the wizard of oz did anything; this movie is just painful to watch. I still watch the tv show reruns, and get a laugh from a lot of them. But not this movie. I don't know what went wrong, but it's just not funny.

In any case, it is a shame Butch Patrick, Pat Priest, and Beverly Owen weren't given cameos at least.

The Eddie replacement was awful and didn't look like the original one at all. They could have at least tried to get someone that looked something like the original.

if it was any good they'd have made an American version by now - Hank Hill
